T1 - Apple tree T2 - Lilac tree T3 - Pear tree T4 - Conifer T5 - Cherry Laurel T1 - Apple tree The apple tree is largely hollow in its trunk and main branch. When given a light push it moves. The tree is situated 2 metres from the back of the conservatory and c.4 foot of the garden wall. The apples also attract a large number of wasps in the summer, very close to the house and main outdoor eating area. For safety and nuisance reasons, the intention is to remove it. T2 - Lilac tree The lilac tree is also largely hollow (see Photo of inside of trunk) and not safe. It also butts against the c.100 year old wall. Our intention is to replace it with Cercis Canadensis (Forest Pansy) but situate the tree further away from the wall. T3 - Pear tree The pear tree is very old and has not been kept in the best shape. It also butts up against the wall. The intention would be to remove it. T4 - Conifer The conifer is the largest tee in the garden and is within one foot of the wall. It is a significant sized tree and the roots are lifting the paving stones on the surrounding patio. The intention is to remove it to protect the integrity of the wall, but replace the tree with Escallonica rubra to provide screening from the large outhouse next door. T5 - Cherry Laurel The intention is to replace the Cherry Laurel with Ligustrum Japonicum - a more decorative tree for the end of the garden. Remarks:
