Terms of use

Last updated 4 August 2026. Using Tradecue means agreeing to these.

1.What Tradecue is

We collect planning applications that UK councils publish, put them in one searchable place, and let you watch areas, track applications and write letters about them. 21days is the same service for neighbours watching the comment window near their home — same controller, same app, a different account. We are not a council, we are not affiliated with any local planning authority, and we do not decide anything about an application.

2.Your account

One account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself, turn on two-step verification if you can, and tell us if you think somebody else is in your account. You must be 18 or over. A Tradecue account is for a trade. A 21days account is for a householder watching applications near their home.

3.What the service costs

There is a free plan and a paid one, set out on the pricing page. The free plan searches within two miles of a postcode or town and does not save, watch or send you anything. The paid plan is £29.99 a month for every feature, at any radius we offer, across as many areas as you cover. 21days is priced separately, as shown when you sign up for that product. Prices are as shown: we are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add on top.

Payment is taken by Stripe, on their own checkout page. We never see, handle or store your card number — Stripe holds the card, the billing address and your invoices, and you can reach all three from the Subscription page in your settings. Stripe processes the payment as our processor; their privacy notice covers what they hold.

The paid plan runs monthly from the day you start it and renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, from the same page. Cancelling stops the next payment and nothing else: your access runs to the end of the month you have already paid for, and none of your searches, watchlist or letters are deleted when it ends.

Cancelling does not refund the month you are in. If a payment fails, we do not cut you off on the first attempt — Stripe retries for a few days, and you keep working throughout. If it still cannot be taken, the account returns to the free plan rather than being closed.

Accounts created before we started charging keep the paid features at no cost. We will not begin charging for something you already have without telling you first and giving you a way out.

If we change the price, it applies from your next renewal and we will tell you before it does.

4.Accuracy, and what we do not promise

Everything you see is a copy of what a council published, collected on a delay. Councils publish at different speeds, in different formats, and sometimes wrongly. Applications get withdrawn, refused, amended and re-submitted, and our copy will not always have caught up.

So: the council’s own portal is the authoritative record, every lead links to it, and you should check there before you rely on anything — before you quote, before you post, before you turn up. We do not guarantee that our copy is complete, current or correct, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted. Our coverage page lists every authority we hold anything for, and the date of the most recent application in each.

5.Letters you send are yours

You write the letter, you decide who gets it, and you send it. That makes you responsible for it — for what it says, for it being honest about who you are and what you do, and for following the law on direct marketing.

In practice that means:

  • Addressed post to a household does not need consent, but you must stop writing to anyone who asks you to, and you should respect the Mailing Preference Service.
  • You are the data controller for your own use of an address you got here, and the homeowner’s rights — to know where you got it, to object, to be erased from your records — are owed by you.
  • Do not use any of this to harass, mislead or pressure anybody, to imply you are acting for a council, or to contact someone who has told you to stop.

We hold no homeowner phone numbers or email addresses, because councils redact them before publishing. Do not try to build them from what is here.

6.Fair use of the data

The account is for finding your own work. You may not resell, redistribute or republish the data, scrape the site in bulk, or use it to build a competing product. Automated access outside normal browsing needs our written agreement.

Underlying planning data belongs to the councils and registers that publish it and stays subject to their licences. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

7.Ending it

Close your account whenever you like, and it takes your data with it. We can suspend an account that breaks clause 5 or 6, or that puts the service at risk — and if it is not urgent we will tell you why first.

8.Liability

We provide the service as it is. We are not liable for lost profit, lost work, or a job that went elsewhere, or for anything that follows from data being late, missing or wrong — which is why clause 4 asks you to check the council’s portal. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.

9.Changes, and the law that applies

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top and tell you about anything significant. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.

Questions: support@tradecue.co.uk. How we handle your data is in the privacy notice.
