The tank is designed to manage stormwater runoff and mitigate flood risk in the surrounding area. Associated drainage works include the installation of an inlet kerb along Peterborough Road and connections to the existing main surface water sewer. The accompanying landscaping scheme is designed to enhance the site’s ecological value and visual amenity. It includes the planting of native trees, the creation of a species-rich wildflower meadow, and strengthened boundary planting to improve biodiversity and provide natural screening. A shallow swale will also be introduced to support sustainable drainage and promote habitat diversity through the creation of varied microhabitats.
