Permitted251176Submitted over a year agoRear extension

Old Church Road Waltham Forest E4 6ST

The buildings housing the funeral home, including rear extensions are past their lifespan requiring significant upgrade. The proposals also aim to expand services to support the local community and London Borough of Waltham Forest requirements. The proposals include remodelling and refurbishing parts of the Victorian shop areas. It is also proposed that rear garden extensions will be demolished and replaced with new purpose designed facilities between the original Victorian shop and outrigger to the west and the garage to the east. The current buildings utilize the entire site with a 1:1 plot ratio, the proposal replaces the existing building footprint using 100% of the available site area. Due to increase building fabric performance there is no increase in net internal area. The new proposed elevation to the north is solid facing brickwork, and to the south fair-faced concrete blockwork facing the garden. It is proposed that the facing brickwork to the north along Salisbury road will be selected to best match the original Victorian London stock brick, to appear as an extension to the existing Victorian shop. A raised parapet matches the height of the garage roof to the east rationalising the roofline and increasing the ceiling height internally improving the quality of internal spaces including the mortuary and the ceremony hall, where a skylight is proposed. The proposals include a side extension on Salisbury Road lining the northern boundary of the site.
