The works includes the installation of motorised gate, pedestrian gate and garden gate at the entrance of undercroft. To mitigate illegal trespassing and illegal activities which has plague the premises. Erskine Court is a block of 9 flats with an open undercroft leading to the rear of the property, giving access to front doors, staircase, rear garden and the car park. Following advice from the Metropolitan Police, it has been decided by the flat owners to install motorised vehicle security gates and a secure pedestrian gate at the entrance to the undercroft approximately 10m from the road. There will also be a secure gate leading to the garden at the front of the property. Crime Prevention and Safer Spaces Statement: Wallwood Road sees a significant amount of drug dealing and drug use. Addicts are attracted to the secluded staircase and rear garden at Erskine Court. Residents frequently encounter such people when arriving at or leaving their homes. The ground floor flats are particularly vulnerable to opportunistic thieves. Cars have been stolen and broken in to. Reports have been made to our Safer Neighbourhood Police Unit on many occasions. This project is designed to significantly increase security at Erskine Court by preventing access to the rear of the property to non- residents. It will also increase the security of the neighbouring properties 6A, 6B and 12A Wallwood Road by preventing access to the rear of those properties via Erskine Court. Note: The gates will not be installed at the entrance to property. There is no change of use.
