44 North Road Preston Brighton BN1 6SP

Tree: Chinese windmill palm (Trachycarpus fortunei), approximately 5 m in height. Proposed works: Remove the Trachycarpus fortunei in its entirety, including grinding out the remaining stump. The tree is located within approximately 4 m of the house. Replacement planting: Following removal, replace the palm with an Amelanchier lamarckii (Juneberry/Snowy Mespilus). This is a more appropriately sized tree for the garden and will provide seasonal interest while also producing fruit that can provide a food source for garden birds.
