50 Balsdean Road Brighton BN2 6PF

This application is to request a crown lift, of tree T8. The approximately 85 year old copper beech tree (Fagus sylvatica purpurea) is looking strong and healthy, but one of its two lowest branches is now getting very close to touching the roof and television aerial of our neighbour's house in Treetops Close, to the SE of the tree. This application is to request that this and possibly the other lowest branch, opposite the nuisance one, be removed by a professional tree surgeon, in the autumn or winter this year, close to the trunk. The second branch removal request is to maintain the balance of the tree. Similar work was approved and successfully completed some years ago. The scars have healed nicely. My mother and I would be happy for a site visit; the 1/4 acre woodland garden contains a large number of rare and unusual trees and shrubs which a tree specialist may like to see.
