Ground Floor Rear 40 Sackville Gardens Hove BN3 4GH

In Lime Tree (T1) Tilia species. Whole crown reduction by up to 30%, reducing the crown height and spread to provide appropriate clearance from surrounding structures and improve the long term management of the tree. All pruning cuts to be made to suitable growth points in accordance with BS3998. To fell one mature Holly tree (Ilex aquifolium) situated within the rear garden of the property. The Holly tree (T2) forms one of the two mature trees located within a relatively small domestic garden. Over time, both trees have developed to a size that is disproportionate to the available space, resulting in significant crown competition and overcrowding within the garden setting. The Holly tree is positioned in close proximity to the Lime tree, and its continued growth is contributing to an increasingly dense canopy that restricts light penetration and limits the ability of either tree to develop a well-balanced form. The relationship between the two trees has resulted in an over-dominant presence within the garden and is reducing the quality and usability of the outdoor space. The proposed removal of the Holly tree will alleviate competition between the trees, improve the growing conditions for the Lime tree, and provide a more appropriate balance between vegetation cover and the scale of the garden.
