T1 - Birch x2 T2 - Magnolia T3 - Birch T4 - Ash T5 - Hawthorn T6 - Cherry x22 T7 - Plum T1 - Birch x 2: Located in courtyard area between the house and the outbuildings. (See photo P1) Fell trees leaving stumps at 1m to facilitate removal with excavator by others. Reason: Area to be re-landscaped including level changes that will not facilitate retention of trees. T2 - Magnolia: Located in courtyard area between the house and the outbuildings. (See photo P2) Fell trees leaving stump at 1m to facilitate removal with excavator by others. Reason: Area to be re-landscaped including level changes that will not facilitate retention of trees. Tree numbers 1 & 2 above will be replaced with single specimen tree creating central focal point in courtyard. The existing Katsura and Apple tree located on the northern boundary of the courtyard area will be retained. T3 - Birch: Located in lawn area in NW corner of the garden. Dismantle in sections in order to fell to ground level stump at 1m to facilitate removal with excavator by others. Plant replacement tree in lawn area. Reason: Extensive, advanced basal decay (see photo P3) with weight and lean to N/NE rendering the tree unstable. "Stag headed" dieback in canopy. T4 - Ash: Located on stream bank on western boundary. Crown clean to remove dead, damaged, weak and crossing branches. Reason: To ensure site safety and maintain form of this late mature tree with low vigour and early signs of senescence. T5 - Hawthorn: Located in lawn area to the west of the house. Fell tree leaving stump at 1m to facilitate removal with excavator by others. Reason: To facilitate redesign of the landscaping around the house. There is a second Hawthorn immediately west of T5 and this tree will be retained. T6 - Cherry avenue x 22: Located either side of the main access drive. Fell trees leaving stump at 1m to facilitate removal with excavator by others (NB Stmp grinding can be provided for this item if preferred). Supply and plant a selection of large species, specimen trees x6. To be strategically positioned to compliment the current landscape and provide maximum impact in terms of amenity. These trees will be planted at a minimum size of "extra heavy standard" i.e. 14-16cm girth and 4.25-5.0m high. Reason: The close proximity of the trees to the drive restricts access for larger vehicles (see photo P4) and the roots have damaged the drive surfacing. The general condition and form of these trees is poor with one sided canopies (see photo P5) resulting from previous pruning to facilitate access. The species and size/scale of these trees is inappropriate for the landscape setting in which they are located offering minimal contribution to the amenity value of the area. The site is generally well treed with several large specimen trees of good form (see photo P6) that provide a significant contribution to the "parkland" setting as you enter the site. There is little, if any public amenity value provided by these trees. The proposed planting will enhance the amenity value of the treescape. T7 - Plum: Located on northern boundary at the rear of the outbuildings. One stem windblown. Fell remaining stem leaving stump at 1m to facilitate removal with excavator by others. Plant replacement tree on boundary. Reason; windblown stem shows evidence of decay pathogen in buttress and roots. Remaining stem of poor quality and form with limited safe useful life expectancy (SULE). Remarks:
