TPO 258 - T1271 - Holm Oak (Quercus ilex) - Sectional dismantle and fell. Reason for works: Vitality fair - leaf loss at the extremities of branches. Tree has historically been severely crown raised to 7 meters from ground level. This has left significant wounding and hollowing on the main stem particularly on the south eastern aspect. The base of this tree has decay throughout northern aspect. There is large amounts of reactive wood however decay appears to be extensive. There are no fruiting bodies at the time of inspection. De-lamination of bark on southern aspect with what appears to be minor cracking but does extend laterally up the main stem minor signs of Kretzshmaria deusta (unconfirmed). Replanting: Replanting of smaller shrubs due to excess of large trees in a small garden leading to lack of light and poor diversity
