G1 – Holly Group – 3 trees Remove three mature Holly trees to ground level. The tallest Holly is approximately 30ft in height with a crown spread of approximately 10ft. The two remaining Hollies are approximately 20ft in height, each with a crown spread of approximately 10ft. All three trees are in a severe state of decline. The tallest Holly has experienced approximately 70% crown dieback, while the two smaller Hollies have each experienced approximately 60% crown dieback. The trees have been monitored over the past 12 months and have continued to deteriorate, with ongoing loss of live growth and no significant signs of recovery. Due to the extent of the crown dieback and continued decline, the trees are considered to have a significantly reduced vitality and are no longer considered suitable for retention. Their location immediately adjacent to the public highway and pavement increases the potential risk to pedestrians and road users from dead or failing branches and potential tree failure. Removal to ground level is therefore recommended on arboricultural and public safety grounds.
