For the purposes of both tree health and avoiding any nuisance to our neighbours from overlapping branches and light reduction, we wish to do the following works to 2 trees in our garden: Crown reduction to reduce the spread of the Silver Birch Tree from c 8m to 6m (height reduction by 2m from c12m to a maximum height of approx 10m) as shown as #1 near the rear boundary wall of our property in the attached plan. We also wish to remove a damaged 2.5 meter branch which is growing over our fence into the neighbour's property at 26 Fairfax Road. The branch comes out of the smaller right-hand of the 2 stems (viewed from our house) which grow from the trunk of the tree at 1m height. The smaller stem has a 15cm diameter at 1.5m above ground, and is below the main crown so will not constitute crown lifting. We will also want to do up to 20% crown thinning of the tree. For the Hawthorn Tree shown in the plan as #2 on the left hand side of our rear garden, We wish to undertake crown thinning of up to 20% and crown reduction of up to 1m, reducing the spread of the tree to c 2.5m and the maximum height to 3m once all stray shoots have been removed.
