Rivermead Nature Park Rivermead Road Oxford Oxfordshire OX4 4EW

Fell various trees and works to various trees as specified by Oakbank Game and Conservation Limited in the Iffley Village conservation area. Coupled to the woodland management works a number of trees require remedial works which are advised on safety grounds. These are predominantly grey poplar and will be felled as part of the silvicultural selective thinning operation. Some will also be monolithed to create standing deadwood in the woodland. Following the coppicing of the coupes common alder (Alnus glutinosa), and pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) will be planted to supplement the coppice stool regrowth. The logs and brash from the operation will be left on site to create habitat piles and border a path through the woodlands. Some of the brash material will also be chipped and left in the woodlands.
