T001 Fell, is encroaching upon Royal Standard House and has been subject to canopy reductions in previous applications. Arguably, this is an unsuitable tree for its location, and repeated canopy reductions in lateral span are not conducive to long-term tree health or cost-effective management. Replant after Removal with a Betula pendula Obelisk standard after removal to lessen the visual impact and help offset the canopy loss. This is a smaller species of tree with a narrow canopy form so should be less inlcined to encorach upon the Listed Building. T002 Fell, angle of lean had increased by 5 degrees at time of last visit, from the initial visit in April 2024, and was at 32.5 degrees from vertical in February 2025. Has a restricted rooting area and is approximately 24 m tall, as clarified in a site meeting with Monty Haw in February 2026. Replant with a Betula papyrifera standard to help lessen the visual effect of tree loss and add some species variety to the locality. Planting of a third tree, again Betula papyrifera, at a point to be agreed to the west to break up the skyline following the removal of trees agreed under a previous application.
