Request for a Screening Opinion in respect of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for provision of a new Grid Supply Point at the existing UK Power Networks Bengeworth Road Substation Hub. The proposal to which the Screening Opinion relates includes the following works: - A permanent shaft, approximately 30m deep and 15m diameter, - A permanent headhouse approximately 16m by 22m with a maximum height of 10m, - A new 400kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation with adjoining annex in a steel framed building with an approximate footprint of 37m x 18m and a maximum height of 15m, - A new 132kV GIS substation contained in a building with an approximate footprint of 43m by 15m and maximum height of 13.5m, - Installation of 2x 400/132kV Super Grid Transformers (SGTs) encompassed by two reinforced concrete oil containment bunds of 12m x 22m, perpendicular to the 400kV GIS substation and 3x fire walls adjacent to their longitudinal lengths and, - Ancillary structures comprising a new workshop unit, storage unit and emergency diesel generator unit.
