Royal Mail currently open the vehicle gates at the start of the working day and secures them at the end of the day in accordance with their security protocols. A prospective tenant intends to occupy the former Post Office area and has confirmed that their operational hours will extend beyond Royal Mail’s standard opening hours. Consequently, Royal Mail proposes to replace the existing vehicle gates with a combination of a fire escape gate and a vehicle gate. This arrangement will allow Royal Mail to maintain yard security outside working hours while ensuring the adjoining tenant can safely exit the yard in the event of a fire or other emergency
