TREES IN CONSERVATION AREA: T1- Mature Copper Beech located adjacent to the main entrance on the east side of the property. Ground around the entire base is covered by Meripilus giganteus (Giant polypore) fruiting bodies. Due to the nature of the white rot fungi attacking the roots of the tree and the volume of fruiting bodies the best course of action would be to dismantle and remove the tree as soon as possible to avoid tree blowing over in strong winds. T2- Black Poplar leaning over drive way has fungal fruiting bodies around base of stem with basal decay surrounding the majority of the base also. Best course of action would be to dismantle/ fell to mitigate any risk given the trees exposed location directly over driveway.
