Reason: The tree is in a critically poor and hazardous condition, with a clear risk of imminent failure abundant Kretzschmaria deusta present at the stem base, as shown in the attached photographs. The stem is critically decayed, with very limited remaining sound sapwood. A nylon-hammer assessment produced a very poor sound response, indicating a substantially hollow stem and a significant risk of brittle fracture. During inspection, sections of the remaining outer wood were so degraded that they broke away by hand easily.
