My mother is 85 years old and has a severe physical disability which has become increasingly worse in the last year. She has spinal stenosis and narrowing of the spinal cord canal which causes her problems walking and has had falls. She doesnt have a WC/shower/sink on the ground floor as the only bathroom is on the first floor which is 13 steps up. If she stays upstairs where the bathroom is, she will not be able to come downstairs and her quality of life and safety and being severely affected. If she has a downstairs wc/shower/sink she will be able to remain living here where she has lived since 1976. We will follow the permitted development regulations and building regulations to make sure the ground floor single storey extension meets the legal requirements. It will not block any light at all from neighbouring properties as it is extending outwards from the boundary of our house and the extension will not be adjacent to any of the neighbours building.
