I am seeking to replace 1 x existing single glazed Crittall steel door with new double glazed Crittall steel door, to the east elevation at eighth floor level AND to replace 3 x existing single glazed Crittall steel windows with new double glazed Crittall steel windows, to the east (windows 1 & 3) and south (window 2) elevations at eighth floor level. The door and windows are located in my flat which is on the 8th (of 9) floors in King Court. By replacing the windows I am seeking to improve levels of thermal comfort associated with the double glazing, which should lift the energy performance, without impact on the external appearance of the building. The windows are manufactured by Crittall who are based in Essex and have been manufacturing the windows since the late 1800s. Since 2012 they have offered a double glazed solution which significantly lifts the environmental performance without impacting on the aesthetic. The product is also coated in such a manner that it shouldn't require painting for 80 years and should last in excess of this.
