On the side elevation, the existing window is reconfigured to suit the internal layout. To the rear, one window is retained and an additional window is proposed to provide extra light to the living space. The kitchen door to the rear terrace is relocated, and a new high-level obscured-glass window is added to provide natural light to the new staircase without overlooking neighbouring properties. All new windows will be double-glazed, and two first-floor windows are replaced to match existing. Internally, the ground floor is reconfigured to create an open-plan living space, relocate the staircase, and provide a new cloakroom with a toilet. The first floor is rearranged to retain a bathroom and create a new bedroom, and the loft floor includes a new shower room for an ensuite. The works improve natural light, circulation, and functionality while respecting the character of the property and neighbouring privacy.
