Refused2025/2527Submitted 9 months agoChange of use

Millfields Road Hackney E5 0DD

Change of use of an existing self-contained residential flat (Use Class C3) to short-term letting / temporary sleeping accommodation for up to 365 days per year. No physical alterations are proposed to the flat or to the building. I have lived in London for 11 years, and for the last 7 years this flat has been my main home. Due to important family reasons, I now need to spend extended periods in Italy. However, London remains a central part of my personal and professional life. I return regularly for work, business meetings, studies, and also to see close friends and family. For this reason, I will continue using the flat personally for several months each year. When I am away, I would like to rent the property on a short-term basis to help cover the significant costs of maintaining the flat, while fully preserving its residential use for when I am in London. The intention is to host mainly families and responsible visitors who wish to stay in Hackney, an area known for its parks, community atmosphere and excellent connections. This is a small-scale, carefully managed operation designed for quiet guests who respect the building and the neighbourhood. The flat accommodates a maximum of 3 people and is operated with strict house rules, supervised check-ins, and clear expectations to ensure that guests behave respectfully at all times. I have always had an excellent relationship with my neighbours and with the building community. I value this relationship deeply and would never undertake any activity that could cause disturbance or inconvenience. My priority is to maintain a peaceful and well-managed environment, fully respecting the residential character of Moore House. I remain committed to addressing any concerns promptly and ensuring that the proposed use is carried out responsibly, safely and with full consideration for those living around me.
