Field South West Of Lime Tree Farm West Of School Road Tunstall Suffolk
Prior Notification (Agricultural) - A balanced cut and fill earthmoving operation to form a reservoir to store water abstracted from the Alde during winter months. The clay from beneath the site will be engineered to form a water tight lining. No materials will be brought onto or leave the site. Why necessary for agriculture: Building a reservoir is essential for strengthening resilience in the face of future challenges around climate change and the ever-increasing pressure on water as a natural resource. The reservoir would ensure that we could maintain crop growth during periods of drought ensuring our customers continuity of supply. Thus, helping to safeguard our business as a producer of fresh produce. The reservoir would be used to improve water security by storing excess water which would be abstracted under licence during the wetter winter months. Why designed for agriculture: The existing irrigation water distribution infrastructure is situated at the site served by the existing two reservoirs.
