28 Laughton Road Beverley East Riding Of Yorkshire HU17 9JR

It is very overgrown and ivy has killed some of the hedge so that it is no longer an effective protection against intruders. It would not keep any dogs in the property. It has been cut back by neighbours so that our property line is moved back a little, meaning our boundaries are being compromised. We have trimmed this hedge at regular intervals but in the last 2 years it has grown back with a vengeance. This hedge is at the back of our garden and may have been the original boundary of the market garden that used to be there. It contains hawthorn trees and ivy. Parts of this hedge are thick, others are thin. We are aware of the wild life implications and want to support native flora and fauna . We would not cut the jedge between March and August, the nesting season. One option would be partial removal of the hedge to put up fencing where the hedge is no longer adequate/ has been killed by ivy. We purchased the house in 1993 and the hedge was thick and bushy then but it has been poorly cared for by subsequent tenants and we need better protection at the back of our property.
