External and internal alterations to Carpenters Hall, 1 Throgmorton Avenue and 23 Great Winchester Street, including: i) the demolition of fourth and fifth floors of Carpenters Hall and lift overrun and their replacement with new fourth, fifth and sixth floors with roof level terrace and plant enclosure; a new pavilion to the third-floor link extension over Throgmorton Avenue; improved step-free access including new step-free routes from Throgmorton Avenue and London Wall; the reinstatement of external decorative detail and refurbishment of London Wall arcade and facades; internal works including minor opening up of the party wall to create connection through to 3 Throgmorton Avenue and access to new associated archive and learning centre; the restoration of historic circulation to Court Room at ground floor; the removal of existing suspended ceilings and secondary glazing throughout and replacement of windows; minor redecoration and refurbishment of the interiors and associated works. ii) The demolition of the existing fourth floor and construction of a new fourth and fifth floors at 23 Great Winchester Street and the interconnection of Nos. 3 (in part), 5-7, 15-17 Throgmorton Avenue and 23 Great Winchester Street and the creation of step-free access from Great Winchester Street. Internal works to 23 Great Winchester Street including reconfiguration of lightwell, the restoration of the entrance skylight, re-instatement of historic circulation and plan form at ground, first, second and third floors including access to the main staircase at ground floor level. Internal works including the removal of partitions, doors, suspended ceilings existing secondary glazing, plant, access ladders and walkways, replacement windows and associated works.
